Updated 17 October 2026. Wi-Fi prices are typical 2026 rates. Type your ship in the GigSky app before you pay.
Costa Wi-Fi. On Mediterranean weeks in 2026, Costa WhatsApp has been about €5 a day, Social about €9 to €10, and Full about €15 to €17 for one device if you buy ahead. A one-day Full pass on the ship is about €39. Check MyCosta for your sailing. A GigSky cruise eSIM is one phone for sea days and the ports.
Costa’s own Wi-Fi runs on Starlink now. The packs are still sold by the day, per device. WhatsApp only sends WhatsApp. Social adds the social apps. Full is browsing, mail, and the normal web. Streaming sits in the top pack, not in the cheap one.
Prices move with the itinerary. On Mediterranean sailings in 2026, people were paying about €5 a day for WhatsApp, about €9 before the cruise or €10 on board for Social, and about €15 before or €17 on board for Full, one device. A 24-hour Full pass bought on the ship was about €39. Two devices on Full for a week lands around €210 to €240 if you buy ahead. Open MyCosta and read your sailing. Do not trust a screenshot from a different ship.
The MyCosta app itself — the daily programme, deck plans, and ship chat — works on the free ship Wi-Fi. You do not need a paid pack for that. You need a pack, or a cruise eSIM, when you want the real internet.
WhatsApp, Social, and Full
WhatsApp is for the family chat and almost nothing else. Social is for the apps Costa lists as social. Full is the one that loads maps, mail, and a normal page. If you only buy WhatsApp, do not be surprised when Google will not open.
Buy on MyCosta before you sail. Costa says those prices run up to about 20% under the on-board rate, and you can put the pack on up to two devices. The one-day Full pass is an on-board buy. It is the expensive way to cover a single sea day.
Mediterranean, Caribbean, and world cruises
Most Costa weeks are the Mediterranean or the Canaries. That is Cruise & Europe in GigSky. A Caribbean Costa week wants Cruise & Americas. A long world cruise wants the World pack. The ship name still has to show up in the app.
Barcelona, Savona, Civitavecchia, and Marseille are ports. A land eSIM can do one city. It dies the morning you sail. The cruise plan is the same eSIM on the sea day and on the next pier.
Smeralda, Toscana, and the older ships
Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana are the ships people find first. Diadema, Pacifica, Serena, Favolosa, Deliziosa, and Fortuna are the next names to type. If GigSky’s search box is empty, that is the answer. Maya is the backup, with a different code, ESIMTWEAKS10.
This page is Costa Crociere, not Carnival and not MSC. Carnival Social is a different product. If your ticket says Carnival, use the Carnival page.
When ship Wi-Fi still wins
Buy Full if you want the ship’s Starlink for browsing and films on more than one device in the cabin. The one-day pass is fine for a single sea day. It is a poor deal for a whole week.
When the Costa eSIM wins
You want WhatsApp on a sea day and maps in Barcelona or Civitavecchia, on one phone, without a per-device Costa pack. That is the Costa cruise eSIM. Code ESIMDUDE takes 10% off GigSky. It does not discount Costa’s own packs.
