Updated 17 October 2026. Wi-Fi prices are typical 2026 rates. Type your ship in the GigSky app before you pay.
Viking Wi-Fi. Viking includes free Wi-Fi on its ocean ships. Viking says the speed may vary. You do not buy a Wi-Fi package for a normal ocean cruise. A cruise eSIM is for the phone in your pocket when you walk off in port. It is not a way to beat a bill you do not have.
Viking lists free Wi-Fi under Viking Inclusive Value. The line says the connection speed may vary. That is the whole price story. You do not add $20 a day the way you do on Royal or Cunard.
Free on the ship is not the same as free on the pier. The ship network stays on the ship. In Bergen, Venice, or a Greek port you are on local towers. A land-only eSIM can do one city. It dies the morning you sail. A cruise plan is the same eSIM on the sea day and on the next dock.
This is ocean. Viking river ships are a different product and a different Wi-Fi story. If your ticket is a Longship on the Rhine or the Danube, do not use this page. Type the ocean ship name. Viking Star is not “all Viking.”
What the free Wi-Fi is, and is not
It is internet in the cabin and around the ship, with no per-day charge. Mail, maps on the ship, messages. Heavy streaming can still be slow. Viking does not promise a film service.
It is not a phone plan for the port. If you only need the cabin, skip the eSIM. If you want WhatsApp and maps the moment you step off, that is the GigSky job.
Which pack, if you still want one
Most Viking ocean weeks in Europe want Cruise & Europe. A Caribbean or Alaska voyage wants Cruise & Americas. A long world route wants the World pack. The ship still has to show up in the GigSky search.
Code ESIMDUDE is 10% off that plan. It cannot discount Viking Wi-Fi, because Viking Wi-Fi is already included.
When ship Wi-Fi still wins
Use the included Wi-Fi for the cabin. Do not buy a ship package. There is not one to buy for standard ocean Wi-Fi.
When the Viking eSIM wins
You want your own phone to work after you leave the ship, and on the sea day without joining the ship network. That is the only honest reason to add GigSky on Viking. Code ESIMDUDE is 10% off.

Viking eSIM FAQ
Is Wi-Fi free on Viking Ocean Cruises?
Yes. Viking includes Wi-Fi in the ocean fare. The line says the speed may vary. You do not buy a standard Wi-Fi package.
Does this page cover Viking river cruises?
No. This is Viking Ocean. River ships on the Rhine, Danube, and other rivers are a different trip. Check that ticket before you buy an ocean eSIM.
Do I still need an eSIM on Viking?
Not for cabin Wi-Fi. Yes if you want maps and WhatsApp when you walk off the ship, on the same plan you used at sea. A normal travel eSIM dies about 12 miles out.
Which GigSky plan for a Viking Mediterranean cruise?
Cruise & Europe. Search the ship by name first. If it is not listed, do not buy.
What is the Viking eSIM coupon?
ESIMDUDE. Ten percent off GigSky cruise and ferry plans. Viking’s own Wi-Fi is already included, so the code does not apply to the ship.
